What Are Paid Marketing Messages?

Paid marketing messages let you reach supporters who haven't interacted with your Facebook page in the last 24 hours. When you publish a campaign to these supporters, GoodUnited creates a Meta Marketing Campaign that delivers your message through Meta's paid messaging channel.

How It Works

When you click Publish in Journey Builder for a campaign targeting supporters outside the 24-hour engagement window, a Meta Marketing Campaign modal appears. You'll select your budget, and the system shows you how many supporters you can reach with that budget.

Once you approve the budget and Meta approves the campaign, the system waits 60 minutes from the creation time before triggering your GoodUnited campaign. This ensures Meta's systems are ready to deliver your messages.

Monitoring Your Campaigns

The new Marketing Campaigns page gives you visibility into:

  • All campaigns you've created
  • Budget spent and remaining for each campaign
  • Revenue and engagement results from the linked GoodUnited campaign

You can compare your paid marketing spend directly against the supporter actions and donations it generated.

Why We Use Paid Marketing Messages

Pages can only send free messages to people who have interacted with the page in the last 24 hours. For subscribers who haven't engaged recently, Meta requires organizations to use their Paid Marketing Messaging channel.

Supporters who commented on a post, or sent you a message in the last 24 hours can still receive free messages. Paid marketing messages ensure you can stay connected with the rest of your subscriber base.
